Passport problems

Hi all, first time posting here. This rant is about my attempt to get my passport which I applied for in January. I fly out March 20th.

I hope I don't sound overly angry, but the NPIC is really pissing me off. I'm supposed to fly to Europe in just seven days, but the NPIC does not pick up there phone. It is 11PM here, and after calling all day (I'm on the phone even now) their "added staff" does not even get my call - the phone tree just decides they're too busy, points me to their website and drops my call! This is insane! This is after calling all weekend!

I've spent a good amount of money and was assured I would have my passport in time, but now it looks likes I may not get it in time. I'm very mad about the time wasted so far.

The online "status" doesn't even give me a status, and the only option they are giving me is to drive to another state for an emergency passport. What the hell? Someone please tell me there is a better option. npic@state.gov has not responded to my email, either.

I'm in Atlanta, Georgia. Any tips would be great.

I had my expidited within 3 days with Perry International (chicago). It cost me like $250-300.

How far is it, for you to go and pick it up? Will they make you pay for the emergancy passport?
The closest "emergency" center is New Orleans. 700 miles away. I would have to pay for the emergency one.
well thats pretty retarded. I would just keep hassling them. Is their office near you? I would go in, in person, to get some answers.

Sorry if i sound retarded, but I dont know if you went in and got it or not.
You cannot reach them by phone. This guy was having the same problem. If you have a way to call US numbers, try calling this number 7AM to midnight EST 1-877-487-2778 - they don't pick up at all, which is why I can't rush my passport. I can't reach them!

Anyways, if I get it straightened out (which I hope I do), where should I go in Germany? Munich? :) I will be in Amsterdam on the 21st, if all things go well.
I'm in Wiesbaden, it's a pretty nice City. I'd probably reccomend more places, if I didn't despise it here, lol.

Munich is all the way South East from Amsterdam, if you're willing to make the trip, Garmish/Munich deffinatly, I loved it there.

If you're traveling via trains, go into the ticket counter, and ask for any special rates, usually alot cheaper than buying them form the ticket machine.

You're non-military correct?
you will not be able to leave the US to go overseas without one. period.

i would go into your office that you applied, they can find out the status for you.

if you paid for an expideted passport- it should have been there by now. if not it will take time.

i would ask where they are processed by the location that you applied. if not ask the local post office or county seat you live int. normally you can just pick it up if not mailed already.
I got a machine when I called. I hate those so much.
